Scarcely Saved

Now "If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?" 1 Peter 4:18.

Some have interpreted this Scripture to mean that Christians will only be saved by the “skin of their teeth”.

Peter in this verse is warning those Christians of the coming of the Army of Rome and their siege on Jerusalem.

Peter later answers the question of “scarcely saved” in the verse below.

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;  for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:10-11.
