Idolatry

Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry, I Corinthians 10:14.

Is it possible to practice idolatry in these modern times?

What is idolatry anyway?

It is what or who you serve rather than God. It is what or who you bow down before.  It is where you place your trust, exclusively.  It is where you place your love, exclusively.

Of course the idol that is most prevalent in this country is money.

Can it be someone that you call Father (religiously) or Holy Father?

Can it be a stone, wood, metal or plastic image that you bow down before and say your prayers to or in front of?

Can it be trusting in faith alone to save?

Can it be trusting in tongue speaking?

Can it be trusting in the King James Version of the Bible to the exclusion of all others?  Remember the King James translation was translated to please an earthly king not the heavenly King.

Can it be in placing your family before what God desires of you?

Can it be trusting in your emotions to determine your acceptability to God?

God does not want a crippled, mongrel or a Christianity based on superstition. True Christianity must be based on God’s Word.
