God's Enduring Laws

God’s Enduring Laws.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

In the creation God established two principles of law: the law of nature and the law of the spirit.

Adam and Eve experienced the consequence of violating the law of the spirit.

Today mankind wants to be able to violate both the law of nature and the law of the spirit without suffering the consequences of those violations.

Because the Romans were violating both the law of nature and the law of the spirit, “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions”, Romans 1:26.

But they will be “receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due” (Romans 1:27) when they violate those laws.

“because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness,” 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12.

Some consequences for the violation of the law of nature are confined to this life.  Other consequences for the violation of the law of nature are passed to mankind’s offspring. Still other violations of the law of nature become violations of the law of the spirit and the consequences are eternal in nature. This is what the apostle Paul was writing about in Romans and Thessalonians.

The violation of the law of nature has polluted the gene pool and resulted in the tragedy of handicapped offspring.  Then some blame God for that tragedy.  Still God’s law of nature must be observed even though it may be difficult.

If we come to know, believe and love the truth, we will know when the violation of the law of nature is also a violation of the law of the spirit.
